date night got a Greek spin on Friday evening (and yes I’m dressed as the dancing emoji with my red dress) thanks to an invite to take pleasure in authentic Greek food and bouzouki at The real Greek Windsor.

A much-loved of ours, and the venue I spent my birthday at in November, Peter and I made our way to the intimate soiree where we took pleasure in sumptuous course after course of Meze, desserts and lots of dancing (me, not Peter) thanks to the dazzling Fidoura’s who along with the food made me feel like I was holidaying in Cyprus!

Hostess with the mostess was super-talented TV chef and face of the real Greek chain, Tonia Buxton who looks simply ah-mazing at 50. Here’s to looking 30 at 50 too please. It need to be all that healthy Greek food!

With limitless delicious dishes spanning charcoal grilled Halloumi, cheese pastries, Dolmathes, octopus, Greek salad, kebabs, dips and not forgetting caramel cheesecake and baklava, it was a good job I did a few rounds on the dance floor to work that lot off!

Peter and I literally rolled out of there at 10 pm after our amazing feast. I love our date nights and spending quality time together away from day-to-day life allowing us time to switch off, put the world to rights and vitally, laugh our heads off!

It sounds incredibly cheesy but I love Peter a lot more with every day, and I feel so lucky to have found my soul mate in him. We always feel exactly like we did on our first dates a million years ago, when we go out together even now, all these years later. The spark between us simply grows and grows and I treasure that fact and value how precious it is.

Thank you The real Greek Windsor for a terrific night and reminding us both to schedule a lot more ‘us time’.

Until the next time.
